Today marks the first in a thirty day attempt to fund the newly launched publishing company, The Crossover Alliance.
For the better part of the last year I've been on the launch team, planning to make this company a reality. In short, we produce Edgy Christian Speculative Fiction. We publish stories that delve into the dark recesses of human existence so the light of Christ can shine abundantly.
This past fall we released a short story anthology (free on Amazon.com). The genres included historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, apocalypse, horror and fairy tale. The content ranged from PG territory to R.
Many of our stories are challenging. There are moments of human ugliness and depravity. There is a weight of darkness to some stories which will, at times, disturb.
So then, why do we write? And why are we asking people to support our writing goals?

- Stories are powerful. Stories which reflect reality (even with a speculative backdrop) have greater personal impact.
- Evil and sin need to be portrayed as they are, without filters, so we can better combat it.
- Western culture is continually getting darker and nihilistic. Christians need to write stories from this nihilistic background, but pointing toward the light of Christ instead of annihilation.
- Western culture is becoming a storytelling culture. Believers need to tell stories willing to travel to the dark places our culture has gone, with the intent to lead some out of the darkness through the gospel.
