We've been planning the launch of The Crossover Alliance for quite some time. As we prepared the Kickstarter campaign I offered this prayer to our group (David N. Alderman, Mark Carver, Jess Hanna, and Peter Younghusband) a few months ago:
Dear Father,
You said through the Psalmist Unless the LORD builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; (Psalm 127:1)
We understand that we are doing something that has great potential to bring glory to your Name.
May you direct The Crossover Alliance toward that end.
We also understand that we are doing something that has potential to cause great harm.
May you protect us from decisions that would dishonor your Name.
We submit our plans to you.
If they are within your will, may you make them succeed.
If there is anything that must change, we pray you cause it to be changed.
If there is nothing here within your will, we pray you destroy it.
May our hands write for your glory.
May our minds think for your glory.
May our hearts feel for your glory.
We do not pray that you bless our plans, Almighty God
because we know that your plans are far greater than any plans we could devise.
So instead, we ask to be a part of your plans.
This venture is dedicated to you.
Do with it whatever you will.
Wherever you go, may we all be filled with the strength of Christ to fulfill your calling.
Wherever you lead us, may we listen to the Holy Spirit's guiding voice.
In large or small ways, may our work be the work of the Great Commission,
And bring the light of the Gospel into dark places.
In the Name of Jesus we pray and we ask.
